Oncofertility Saturday Academy Application
The Oncofertility Saturday Academy is seeking applicants exclusively from Young Women's Leadership Charter School (YWLCS). YWLCS students in 11th and 12th grade who are curious about science, considering majoring in science in college, or considering pursuing a career in science and medicine should apply. Students in 11th grade can apply to the Junior Oncofertility Saturday Academy (JOSA) and students in 12th grade can apply to the Senior Oncofertility Saturday Academy (SOSA). To apply students, must be 11th or 12th grade YWLCS students, earning a proficient or better academic standing, and passing current science course.
The OSA Application consists of three forms: Student Form, Parent Form, and Advisor Form. Please follow the instructions carefully. The OSA Application deadline is Friday, December 4, 2009.
A review panel consisting of members from the Northwestern University's Institute for Women's Health Research and the YWLCS Science Department will review the applications. Selected applicants will be notified to schedule an interview between December 8 - 14th. Following the interviews, a total of 12 - 16 juniors will be selected to participate in the Junior Oncofertility Saturday Academy (JOSA) and 12 - 16 seniors will be selected to participate in the Senior Oncofertility Saturday Academy (SOSA). YWLCS students who successfully participate and complete each year of the program will receive a 0.5 credit that will appear on the academic transcript as Reproductive Sciences (JOSA) and Advance Reproductive Sciences (SOSA).
