Announcing Keisha Barreto as our first official WHSP Science Sister of the Week!

Keisha Barreto was our first official WHSP Facebook fan, and we are pleased to announce the she is also our first official WHSP Science Sister of the Week!  Keisha is a senior at Young Women’s Leadership Charter School.  She is a graduate of the Junior Oncofertility Saturday Academy, this summer’s Infectious Disease Summer Academy, and we look forward to receiving her application to our next Senior Oncofertility Saturday Academy.

Keisha is an extremely bright and positive young woman, and she brings a great energy to each WHSP program in which she participates. Her favorite subjects are biology and chemistry.  She is passionate about helping others and aspires to be a cardiologist or pediatric oncologist.  This past summer, in addition to participating in IDSA, Keisha was an intern for Dr. Melissa Simon, a WHSP faculty member and assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University.  As you can see, she is already taking steps towards pursuing her career goals, and with such drive and dedication, we have no doubt she will achieve great success.
